  • Eh. I guess I am just a coffee failure but I'm totally unimpressed with French Press coffee. These comments may apply to French Press in general or to this press specifically.1. The press insert doesn't reach the bottom of the carafe. Again don't know if it should but it doesn't.
Small but makes good coffee Okay so this really only makes about two cups of coffee otherwise I'd have given it a 5. That said it does make good coffee providing you use coarsely ground coffee per the recommendation. And if you are using the coffee grinder in a grocery store that means brushing out the dust from the previous user otherwise you'll have tiny coffee grounds in your cup the following morning. We bought the french press because our Keurig machine was having electronics problems and because of kcup prices. Our first Keurig was replaced under warranty at 11 months now the second one has issues.
great coffee! I bought one of these small bodum presses and unfortunately it arrived with a crack in it. I was sent a replacement immediately and had a great cup of coffee this morning. I plan to get the larger one for use when I have company or family over.
satisfield customer I bought the smaller sized press for myself as my husband doesn't drink coffee and I bought the larger size as a gift. I'm extremely satisfied with my press. The coffee is delicious the best I've ever had. I was concerned after reading it works better with coarsely ground coffee and you need an expensive grinder to get a coarse grind. I solved this by grinding my coffee at the store. I know this is frowned upon by the aficiondos but I can't afford another $100 for a special grinder. The coffee still tastes great to me. I'm very happy with my press.
perfect This is an absolutely wonderful little item that I am in love with. Having tried other similiar french presses the truth is that nothing else can quite measure. Extremely happy with this purchase.
Works well but construction defects I finally replaced my Melior purchased in 1971 after the wire mesh screen frayed beyond repair and the black ball on top of the shaft for the screen split in two. Fortyone years with two beaker replacements is impressive. My replacement Bodum has a few improvements in the lid but after a mere two weeks the inside of the chrome case for the beaker is already rusting. Two weeks vs. 41 years!! You make the call.
Thank you Judi Dench! I've known about French press coffee makers since spending a year living in Europe over 40 years ago but since had never taken the time to actually buy one until one night this Christmas holiday watching Judi Dench in the British comedy series As Time Goes By. She was in her kitchen fixing coffee with her French Press. So I read the reviews on Amazon and for Christmas I finally decided to buy myself the 4 cup Bodum. I figured if I was ever going to find out what a real cup of coffee tastes like at now my retirement age I best get to it.This product was just as most Amazon reviewers have stated! Fantastic cup of coffee and no need of a paper filter! The grounds go right into my compost pile.. nothing is wasted. A truly 'green' coffee maker. Easy to use and to clean.
Good Product I found the Bodum Chambord 4 Cup French Press to work just fine. Seems to be of good quality too. For those of you like me that like a nice big cup of coffee I find this to really only be TWO cups so if you are a heavy consumer of coffee you might opt for a larger size.Other than that I'm very happy with the purchase.
Adorable! This french press is very physically appealing it's short & fat and looks really shiny and high quality. It's perfect to make coffee for just 23 people. There is extra strain so you're sure not to get any coffee grounds in your cup. Highly recommended.
Corning ware This item makes great coffee only one major problem the glass container has no quality @ all! Kept having to get new glass replacements. Finally went with frieling stainless steel press coffee is just as good without the problem of cheap glass. So if you buy this product good luck. When you get tired of replacing cheap glass you'll switch also. This company needs to switch there glass container to something on the order of Corning ware heat treated glass that likes hot and cold changes without cracking. Also beware these containers aren't what they say 2 cup is not 2 and 4 cup is ont 4 etc. at least not by U.S. standards.

Heat-resistant borosilicate glass beaker.Accepted as one of the best ways to brew coffee..Dishwasher-safe.Durable stainless-steel frame.17-ounce capacity. 2. For each 1.25-deciliter/4-ounce cup, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.

Caution: Use only coarse ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter and create high pressure. Place coffeemaker on a heatproof, nonslip surface. In 1974 the first fruit of Joergen and Carsten's collaboration was introduced: the French coffee press Bistro. It was also the first incorporation of the new Bodum design language--beautiful simplicity and excellent materials for everyday life. Many more variations of coffee presses followed. Since 1974 Bodum has produced over 50 million French presses, taken the leap from "coffee" to "kitchen," and developed and produced a large variety of beautiful household and tabletop designs. Safety Instructions Not for stovetop use. Check glass beaker for scratches, cracks, or chips. Do not use a pot that is scratched, chipped, or cracked. Install a replacement beaker before using the pot again. Keep children away while using. Hot water is a hazard to small children! Do not allow children to use this coffeemaker.
