  • Made great coffee when it worked $250 for one year use This coffee maker made my coffee better than Starbucks. My husband and both enjoyed using it for the first 6 months. Then it started acting up. At first it stopped brewing the smaller sizes which we used for lattes or guests who liked stronger coffee. We routinely reset it turned it off and on cleaned it repeatedly nothing was wrong no clogged filter we use reverse osmosis water in it and still got hit or miss performance until last month. Purchased it last year at Christmas and this year just past its one year anniversary it now doesn't work at all. We've tried everything it's not us. Reading on the internet it seems this is par for the course with this appliance. So before you buy it just ask yourself if it's worth $250 for an awesome cup of joe at home for maybe 6 months and at most a year.
Great Prodict No waste. One cup at a time. Beautiful style. Brevillle takes the Keurig to a new level. Makes a great cup of coffee.
Makes a great paper weight. When I bought this a little over a year ago I thought I was getting topoftheline after all it was a Breville which I've always viewed as synonymous with quality. Boy was I wrong. To be fair it made decent coffee for about 8 months and was very reliable although frankly I find singleserve machines generally unable to replicate the rich taste of traditional coffee or espresso machines no matter what flavor you buy But I really like the convenience it's a tradeoff I suppose. Then a strange thing happened at the 8 month mark It started only brewing half a cup each time even though I always selected the fullcup setting. I ran decalifier through the machine a few times even though I only use filtered water. Still the problem persisted. After some internet searching I discovered the problem is widespread with this model. And the solution everyone recommends is to bend a paperclip and poke it through the several little outlet holes. My first thought when I read this was ARE YOU KIDDING ME? A paperclip? Anyway I tried the paperclip poking process numerous times and it never solved the problem. So since I'm beyond the warranty period my solution is to run the brew process twice each time I want one cup of coffee. Unfortunately I find this ends up diluting the coffee even more. But it's either that or give it to the Salvation Army.
Save your money. Machine will not last more than 3 months Just like the Keurigpure junk. Lucky if it will last 3 months at the very most. Then stops pumping water. They blame it on scaling and that is not true. It stops working because it has absolutely NO metal pipes inside. All the inside plumbing is soft cheap plastic water lines that collapse and clog shortly after you start using it. They cannot possible last when they are pumping 190 degree water through these cheap plastic water hoses. Even a cheap $25 Mr. Coffee has metal copper pipes in side it for the hot water lines. I have been through a few of these machines and they are just nice on the outside and cheap plastic junk on the inside.
Never buying Breville or Keurig Again! Bought this about 1 1/2 years ago. Started having problems 2 months in. Not brewing brewing short cups and randomly shutting off. Finally got through to customer service last April and they agreed to replace it under warranty. Sent the unit back and received a new well I hope it was new brewer. Last night the replacement brewer refused to even turn on. Nothing nada zilch. Called Breville today and they informed me that they won't replace the replacement because the warranty is only valid from the purchase date of the original unit. So I have no idea if they sent me a defective or refurbished unit and they won't stand by their product. They did however offer me a 20% off coupon for a brand new coffee brewer!! Gee thanks Breville!! I really want to spend another $200 on a unit that doesn't ever work and whose coffee kcups cost a fortune and don't taste all that good. Ummm.no. You will not be getting another penny from me. I ordered a Hamilton Beach coffee maker for $50 [[ASINB005GUGBS4 Hamilton Beach Single Serve Scoop Coffee Maker]and can use my own coffee to boot!! No more ovepriced nasty tasting k cups!!To be fair I did use the my kcup refill unit with my own coffee in my Keurig so that was the one redeeming grace of this stupid piece of shiny junk.
Twice as good I now own two Breville coffee makers. When purchasing my second I considered going for a cheaper Keurig model as it is for my second home but read many bad reviews. The salesman told me that the Breville is better because it has metal parts and most of the others have plastic parts. I am very happy with the machine and the quality of coffee it makes.
Great to begin with My husband and I bought this coffemaker from Bed Bath & Beyond. We first owned the Cuisinart SS700 bought from BBB. After about 6 months of owning it it began to act up. We exchanged for the same item and that one was screwed up from the start so we decided to bring it back again and had them order us the Breville. We did not know much about the coffee maker but the lady at the register said she owned one and she loved it. We've had it now for 6 months. It's been such an awesome coffee maker. It has various cup sized as the others do and even an iced coffee setting. The tank is a little small for my taste. I find that I have to fill it up quite often. And I love that there is optional inner filter which filters the water as it is passed into the heating tank. It heats up fast and brews very fast. But now it is starting to act up just like the Cuisinart. It has become slower in the heating and brewing areas. And then sometimes it doesn't even fill the cup and yes I have on the correct cup size. I am not sure if this is just a thing with these Keurig brewers but it kinda sucks. I don't want to have to get a new coffee maker every six months. But since I bought this one through BBB I can always return it for a new one.Seeing as this one is quite expensive I would say save your money and go ahead for a cheaper model or brand. Because even though this one costs more it doesn't perform any better than the Cuisinart. If I had known this one would be just like the other I wouldn't have spent the extra money.
Only lasted 2 years This was a wonderful machine while it lasted. Now it does not want to pump water. I have to turn it off and on or unplug it and plug it in several timesafter about 15 min. I can still get a cup of coffeeI would have expected a product I paid over $200 for to last longer than 2 yearsbut I guess I was wrong. Looking at some of these other reviews I guess I am lucky it lasted this long before giving me problems.
Don't do it!! I purchased this as a gift for my wife after looking at other machines and deciding that this appeared to be the best looking and best built kcup maker with the most desirable features. It's had annoying issues for almost the entire time we've owned it. Once every week or two it would just refuse to work. After turning it on and off unplugging it several times and attempting to make several cups while wasting pods it would eventually start working again. A week ago after just over a year of light use 1 cup a day average the descale notification came on. We followed the instructions exactly and now the machine has even more serious issues. Even on the largest setting travel mug we can only get a couple of ounces to brew. No drinkable coffee just more wasted pods. Nothing we do seems to help and the machine is out of warranty now.
Don't buy the Breville I was very happy with my Breville kcup machine for its short lifetime but I would definitely recommend going with another brand. Machine looks great has great features and worked fine for a while then stopped pumping water. Not even sure if it is under warranty but really who's going to pursue sending a $230 coffee machine back to a vendor for warranty work or replacement? How to make your coffee in the interim? No I will just to out and buy a new machine but it won't be a Breville.

The best coffee is always the freshest coffee. That's why it makes no sense to brew by the pot: by the time you get around to drinking most of the joe, it's been sitting in a carafe (or worse, on top of a burner), going more bitter and stale with each minute. The Breville single-cup brewer takes a different approach. It makes coffee one cup at a time, so each cup tastes as fresh as the first one in the pot.
