good machine i have had several good machines over the years. they usually stop working for one reason or another after a 2 or 3 years so i try not to spend too much on them. Very happy with this machine and hope it lasts a couple of years.
as good as the larger machine My sister bought this for me after my house burned down and I lost my larger model.
Solid Sleek Perfomer My experience with this machine has been quite positive. No leaks as has been purported by some reviewers which have me wondering how well they are handling the machine i.e. seating the water container correctly. I also wonder if those reviewers are performing such tasks as grinding the coffee finely enough using enough coffee etc. I tend to think their problems are selfinduced because I have had no problem with the EC270 model. I only make one cup at a time so I haven't tried it for making doubles. There's only one caveat regarding the machine's use. Mine came with both a one cup and two cup filter. However unless you're using the ESE pod function the smaller filter is worthless as it doesn't provide enough chamber to allow for enough grind or space for the water to pass through the grinds properly to create a quality draw. I tried the one cup filter and my espresso was weak with an inadequate crema. Just use the double filter regardless of whether you're making a single or double draw and you'll be fine.For the price this is a very well designed sleek looking model with a small footprint that is perfect if your needs are moderateyou're not intending to use it for entertaining multiple guests but just want a quick well made cup of espresso cappuccino or latte.
Very pleased! I was a bit skeptical before ordering this machine after reading all the reviews about leaking machines etc. but I figured the price was perfect for my first espresso machine and I could always send it back to get a replacement. Well my machine arrived and I could not be more pleased! I haven't had any issues with leaking fingers crossed and have been using Illy preground with great success. No more trips to my local coffee shop for $4 capps and am pretty sure that the machine has already paid for itself. Highly recommend this machine to people.

Great home Espresso Machine We are using this like every day. I am a barrista at Starbucks and I think this machine is great and very importantly easy to clean. It is a little slow at steaming but that is because I am used to the professional machines. It does make nice foam. I am very happy with this machine.
Great Product! I recommend this product to anyone who loves their espresso coffee! My sister and I received this coffee machine for Christmas. I didn't have any problems w/ the machine itself but my sister had to return hers becuase the tank leaked. She is receiving a replacement as we speak! Used this machine this morning. Really easy to use. I'm impressed w/ both the espresso and how the steamer gets the milk really frothy for my latte. Easy to clean quiet and would recommend this machine to anyone.
Excellent espresso machine! This is a great espresso machine. I don't need a big machine since I rarely make 2 cups. This machine makes great cafe mochas quickly and it only takes up a small amount of space.
Missing Tank Gasket This unit works very well. I am very satisfied after a month of use.My first unit purchased from Fry's leaked as described above. The cause was that the plastic gasket on the tank outlet that seats to the base unit was missing! So if you purchase the DeLonghi Espresso Coffee maker EC270 unpack it enough to remove the tank and check that the outlet pipe has the plastic gasket.
Nice small expresso machine This machine makes very good expresso lots of crema and the expresso tastes better than from our old steam powered machine. The only drawback is the relative small capacity of the water heating chamber not the water supply container. When making 2 expressos or lattes I find I need to make the coffee in 2 runs. The temperature drops after about one shot so I turn off the pump wait about 20 seconds for it to reheat then make the second shot. Same thing when steaming milk for 2 lattes steam turn it off wait about 20 seconds then finish steaming the milk.
