  • Looks 10 coffee 2 Love the look but that is all. The handle broke off the second day I used it. More coffee ends up in the bottom than the top. I have tried everything even not putting much coffee in the basked. It is very difficult to use.
Not up to Bodum's usual standard Like Cate I love the design but it's not made well. The handle on mine broke off after about 6 months of weekend use. I expect more of a product at this price point and from Bodum specifically.
Handle won't break if you use it properly! I strongly disagree with the reviewers that gave this a 1star review because of the handle. As several other reviewers have noted you are not supposed to use the handle to tighten the pot and you should take care when using this on a gas stove.I have a gas stove and always use the body of the pot to screw it together. I bought mine at a local coffee roastery at a very discounted price before amazon dropped the price here. I have had mine for 6+ months and LOVE it. It works very well assembles smoothly and makes delicious percolated espresso. I even find I can get a nice little bit of crema by using the low & slow method. No broken handle here.Buy this pot. Use it wisely.
So great if you like to return things I love the design of this espresso maker so I bought one. Before even getting to use it the handle broke. I requested a replacement and the same thing happened. So I got to return two of them fun fun. Bodum can do better and they will. But they are going to have to put some work in this one.
Excellent Coffee quickly and easily I am a regular at Starbucks Coffee Bean etc outlets near my office. This coffee maker makes excellent coffee so much so I have stopped going to those outlets and paid for itself within a month.Always use the best coffee beans you can afford.Always use filtered water.Never open or close using the handle for leverage you will break it. This is counterintuitive and is the only negative point in the design. Otherwise an excellent product.I bought two and after writing this will be ordering two more for friends.
Works great with a slight tweek I've had this guy for a few months and use it at least two or three times a week on average. I also have a 6cup Bialetti and I quite prefer the coffee from the Bodum.First of all I'm unsure why people's handles are breaking so much but I'd guess it's because they're pushing on them while screwing/unscrewing the top. The handle is not meant for that. If you look around for a bit you'll find other moka pot owners screaming on the internet not use the handle to tighten or loosen the seal. The slight tweek I mentioned is that I have to use both rubber washers to make it consistently brew correctly. On my item the lip of the cup that holds the grounds does not fit perfectly into the bottom piece and it really must be perfect. Since the rubber washer's inner radius is just barely the right size this leads to leakage of air/steam from the lower compartment and ruins the brewing process. Thankfully adding the spare rubber washer successfully solves this problem with a tighter seal. All in all I'm very happy with this product. It did come with a moderate flaw but it was easily remedied.

Safety valve regulates steam pressure.Handsome stainless-steel construction.Chambord stovetop espresso maker; 12-ounce capacity.Measures 7-1/2 by 3-3/8 inches; all parts dishwasher-safe.Brews espresso easily in minutes; works on all stovetop burners. This is the smaller of two sizes of stovetop espresso maker by Bodum, measuring 7-1/2 inches tall and 3-3/8 inches in diameter at the base. The 12-ounce capacity pours approximately one large mug or a two smaller cups of coffee. After use, the espresso maker can be unscrewed and every piece placed in the dishwasher or quickly washed by hand. Allow to dry completely before reassembling. Caution: Use a small burner whose diameter matches the bottom of the espresso maker as closely as possible, and make sure the handle is not directly over the heat from the burner. --Ann Bieri Espresso drinkers who don't want to fuss with valves and knobs will appreciate the simplicity of this stovetop espresso maker.
