  • Pretty good but hard to read I like the product makes great coffee keeps it hot for the morning time that we need it too not as long or as hot as with a heater but pretty good. The lid takes a little getting used to but no biggie. My one complaint would be about the size of the display. It is almost impossible to see if the Auto light is on when you are setting it up to start at a later time. Very odd in that part of the design.Doesn't help if you are older and maybe not seeing as good as before.
Coffee lover engineer teacher I bought this coffee maker in December 2011 after searching for a model that had the features I most wanted a 12 cup capacity b thermal carafe because some members of my household get up much later than others c programmability. The first month I was very pleased with how well it worked. However BE WARNED! The lid of the thermal carafe soon begins to not mate well with the brew basket above and coffee leaks down all over your counter and floor.
Texas tea We reviewed a lot of coffee machines and finally picked this one. The timer works coffee is hot and ease of use is great. Would buy it again.
Never another Cruisinart product Lasted from Christmas 2010 until yesterday April 5 2012. So that's $84.99 for 15 months and now it costs about 20% more. Not the first Cruisinart product I've had that either was DOA or didn't last long. Will never buy another Cruisinart product.
almost perfect We got this a little over three years ago and it just stopped working today we make one or two pots of coffee a day and so that's not really so bad I think.A couple of glitches I have had the experience of waking up to coffee all over the floor. It's important to make sure the lid is on properly and it's easy to put it on at a bit of an angle without realizing it. Resulting in a mess. And the lid on the machine needs to be closed down firmly over the unit or the arm that pumps the hot water over the coffee won't be seated correctly. It's hard to read the numbers on the clock face and there's no back up battery for power outages unfortunately a common occurrance where I live. Otherwise the controls are simplicity itself. And I think it's good to invest in a brush to clean out the pot from time to time just rinising it out isn't enough and the opening is too narrow to get in there with a sponge. Maybe one of those sponges on a stick would work. The best things are1.
Great coffeemaker After 15 years the clock in our Starbucks Barista Aroma SBA died and that meant too long a wait in the morning for that first cup. I did a lot of research to find a new 12 cup coffeemaker. I was surprised at how few of them have a thermal pot do people like that cooked syrup you get with a warming plate?? And using a singleserve system seems environmentally irresponsible. This machine is a perfect replacement for our SBA almost looks the same. We've used it every day for about a month with no problems. Some reviews complain about the lid and the SBA had a similar positioning problem but this one winds up perfectly positioned at Pour every time we screw it on.If you are an obsessive cleaner it could be difficult but we just fill the empty pot with water from our instahot faucet screw on the lid and pour it out good enough for us and our criteria is the flavor of the coffee. I will occasionally do a more thorough cleaning but will use baking soda & boiling water as I did with the SBA.The pot is heavier than our old SBA but it does keep the coffee steaming hot much longer.
It's Hot! I finally got tired of drinking lukewarm coffee from the Mr. Coffee thermal pot coffee maker and researched other types of preprogrammable thermal pot coffee makers. The Cuisanart is fantastic! The coffee is very hot as it brews and stays hot for 45 hours. I highly recommend this product.
Great machine I just purchased my second coffee pot of this same model my first one lasted nearly 10 years and we drink a lot of coffee. I've noticed quite a few reviews complaining of spillage/leaking. I've never had this occur as a result of a faulty pot I have however had this occur due to operator error. . .There have been times that I've made a pot of coffee forgetting that there is leftover coffee from the previous day. With a stainless carafe it is fairly easy to forget that the carafe hasn't been emptied. Any overflow incidents have been as a result of my own forgetfulness. I can find no reason based upon my own experience to fault this coffeemakerit's the best I've ever owned.
Cuisinart DTC975BKN 12 cup Thermal . I have owned this coffee maker for about 6 weeks and have made 50 or so pots of coffee with it. I have not experienced any issues with the lid being difficult or it not pouring out. It keeps the coffee hot without cooking it and is easy to clean. The filter basket removes and installs fine however with all the coffee makers we have owned in the past the nondrip pause function quit working just a week or so ago.
Hazardous We bought this coffee maker due to the fact it had a thermal caraffe. That works great. Coffee stays warm for a long long time. But what good is that fact if the coffee is more often all over the counter than in the caraffe.Even with the top on straight which is a hazzle the part for the filter has to sit just right and if it doesn't it doesn't allign with the top of the caraffe and here comes the hot mess again. Also if you use finely ground coffee it never makes the 12 cups it flows over at cup 8 because it doesn't flow thru the filter fast enough. And the last thing that will stop us from buying this product again the etched in writing on top of the lid that tells you open close and pour is nothing for bad eyes. My father in law poured the entire hot pot over his hand because he didn't see the little pour.
