Not able to clean a really dirty pot I needed to clean the stainless steel thermal pot on my Bunn drip coffee maker. Sadly this product isn't able to even touch the staining coffee oils enough to soften them so I can brush the pot clean. Heck even a stainless scrubby won't even remove the oil stain in my pot!If you clean your pot at least twice a week or more often this product might work Ok but if you seldom clean your pot don't waste your money on this product 'cause it's not up to deep severe coffee pot cleaning.This product is for something besides coffee pot cleaning since it doesn't do that very well.
This product is amazing We have two airpots in our office that get a lot of use. They were so built up with coffee stains it was disgusting and the coffee had a really bad bitter taste. We purchased this cleaner and a few quirts a swish of a brush and it was unbelivable how well it worked. Some of the stains did not come off right away so I filled the pots up with hot water and used more of the product and soaked overnight. Amazing!Coffee tastes better now too.
Amazing I had been cleaning my coffee pot just using white vinegar. I started working at a coffee shop and this is what they used. After seeing the results I bought some to use on my home carafe. Wow! It is clean as it was when it was brand new. HUGE difference in the taste of the coffee. Just soak for 30 min and a little scrubbing and it was back to new.
Urnex Coffee Pot Cleaner I think I'm the only person that cleans the coffee pots at the office and this is one of my secret weapons. I use soap and water for most cleaning but I resort to this bottle when the job requires it. Imagine a pot that has sat on the burner for far too long and scrubbing with a brush doesn't seem to be getting the charred coffee off the bottom of the pot. A squirt from this bottle with some hot water will dissolve that coffee without any scrubbing needed. Only once did I need to add some elbow grease when I used that stuff and that was for a serious mess.My only complaint about this product are the directions printed on the back of the bottle. It doesn't say how much to use and I can only assume that I'm using it correctly based off of my results. The most important step is to make sure you rinse out the pot well afterwords to avoid somebody trying to drink the solution although I've never had a problem with somebody trying.
Great Percolator Cleaner I add several drops to my percolator add some water and brew. I rinse and wipe down the insides thoroughly. You must clean a percolator regularly or the flavor of the coffee will diminish.
pretty useless was under the impression that it could be used in a brew cycle. pretty useless b/c you can't. better to just wash the coffee pot with good soap n' non abrasive sponge. totally regretted getting it after the first day. I don't see any usefulness for this product go buy some good dish washing liquid and rinse with distilled water if your worried about it leaving a film behind. use a bendable pipe cleaner if you can't reach in there. total for all that is still less than what this product cost.
Best product I've purchased in 2011 This product works and works very well. It destroyed the coffee gunk on my thermal pot that I'd spent hours trying to clean beforehand. I put an ounce of it in the thermos and you could actually see it work. This was gunk years in the making and it was gone in seconds. Kind of like my stock portfolio circa 2008. I highly recommend this product but do steer clear of any stock recommendations you may hear from me.
You Will Taste the Difference! I'm a bit of a coffee snob. I like my coffee dark black freshly ground and roasted to perfection. In other words I want to taste my coffee! If you are like me and you've ever tried to clean your coffee pot with some white vinegar or just soap and water you probably have accepted that those stains will never go away. Not true! A few years ago I asked a local Starbucks what they use and they turned me on to Urnex! It is amazing! Urnex + hot water + a few minutes and you will do what hours of scrubbing could never accomplish! It also works great for the filter area and anything else that comes into contact with your coffee.For years I've used the powdered Urnex but this stuff is even better for the home user. A few squirts is all you need. I use it every few weeks or when the coffee begins to develop that off taste. This container will last for a year.
Great Stuff I found about this product several years ago at a job that I worked at. They would purchase it to clean the coffee pots out and it was amazing how much gunk this removes. The coffee pot in my house was getting gross so I decided to buy a bottle for the home. I haven't found a DIY alternative that works nearly as well.
Does the job like nothing else My stainless carafe had a couple years worth of gunk built up on it that wouldn't come off with anything until I tried this. It wasn't as easy as some users have described I scrubbed rinsed and repeated for nearly an hour and went through about 4 oz of the stuff but that thing is totally spotless now.
