  • Lasted 3 Months I was quite happy with this machine and was using it daily to grind coffee for 4 cups per day however after about 3 months of use the machine died and would only produce a faint hum when the power button was pressed. Suspected fried motor.
Not worth the money bought from Amazon I bought a Mr. Coffee mill from Amazon and it failed withing the first week. It's clear from the sounds of the grinding that the motor is underpowered. The company did replace it free and promptly. However within a month the second failed as well. The motor just is taxed too much and the grinding slows and finally stops the motor fried. Even if the motor were up to the task there are several other design issues. First the hopper is not designed to deliver beans to the mill grinders efficiently. I use a dark roast which is oilier than less dark beans and that may be a factor in their not sliding into the hopper. Often the mill will whir away and there's no grinding of beans. Another design flaw is that the receiver for the ground beans gets clogged up at the receiver's oriface restricting the easy flow of grounds into the hopper. The company did replace the second fried mill with a third. It too failed within a month. This time I took everything apart cleaned it all out broke the frozen mill heads apart and reassembled. It now works again but for how long I can't say with any confidence. All in all it's just not up to its task. This isn't rocket science they need to redesign this and really test it before it hits the market. I've found that to get a decent mill one has to pay more. Yet it's a crap shoot because you can pay more and not get more either.
Excellent Grinder Excellent Coffee Grinder. Works great. Great price. I've been enjoying this product for about 6 months now. There's nothing better than freshly ground coffee for my espresso maker.
Good value for the price but with some flaws I like the grinder works well but as others have noted the static issue is a bit of a pain to deal with. Grounds do not easily go from grind chamber to container or coffee maker. Has anyone found a way to discharge the static? I'm very tempted to wait for warranty to expire if it hasn't alraedy and rewire unit with a 3 prong plug and see if that does the trick.
Mr. Coffee Automatic Burr Mill Grinder I love my coffee grinder. To me there's nothing better than to drink a cup of coffee that's been fresh ground.
Not for press pot coffee Unfortunately this coffee grinder has fallen short of my expectations. When selecting the coarsest grind setting about half of the grounds come out extremely fine this leads to a poor cup from a press pot. I need a coarse consistent grind in order to make good coffee and this grinder just doesn't offer that. Wish I would have spent the extra money to get something a bit better from the start.
not for espresso! I make cappuccinos at home and have always had to buy my coffee preground for espresso. But preground coffee only stays fresh for a week or less before it becomes stale. So I read the reviews and decided to take a chance on the Mr Coffee burr grinder with 18 settings. Big disappointment. I set it on the finest setting and ground up some beans. It came out the consistency of drip coffee ground. Not even close to fine enough for espresso. I guess it would be ok for your drip machine.
Mr. Coffee Its bbbbuuurrrific I have gone through many coffee grinders looking for something that can grind coffee for both a standard issue coffee maker with filter to making it coarse enough for the French press. There have been quite a few that can do one or the other but never both consistently. This grinder is finally the one I plan to keep forever and if it were to die I would replace it with the same without hesitation. The coarse setting for French press coffee is perfect and consistent like with any of them in the coarse setting there is some fine powder you don't want but this happens with nearly all of them and this grinder is by far the best that I have had.
Excellent Product This burr mill grinder is great! The price was reasonable and it works very well.I saw some negative reviews but I have had none of the problems mentioned in any of them. If you read the instructions you can set the fineness of the grind fairly easily but it may take a couple of tries to get it just the way you want. That is normal for any product like this. Just remember that the finer the grind the less coffee grounds you get and adjust your quantitynumber of cupsa bit higher if you increase the fineness of the grind. I usually set mine at the first or second dot above medium grind and use 12 cups as quantity to make 10 cups of fabulous coffee.Of course unless you use good coffee beans this is a waste of your money. Choose your coffee and roast to suit your own tastes then grind it to give you a good pot of coffee in your type of coffee pot and you will be delighted with this.
Burr's Best On the recommendation of a coffee producing plantation on a recent trip to Costa Rica I specifically searched for a burr grinder rather than a blade grinder. Am I ever glad I bought this item. From the finest to the coarsest grind this machine gives a perfect cup of coffee every time. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quality grinder.
